Meck County Golf Academy at Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course in Charlotte, NC
Located in southwest Charlotte and just minutes from the airport, Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course features an 18-hole layout originally designed by Michael Hurdzan.
This course is the second Mecklenburg County property to be built on a closed landfill. The course is Bermuda from tee to green, and offers four sets of tees to provide a mix of distances that are suitable for players of all ages and abilities. The property is challenging for those who are experienced golfers yet offers an enjoyable environment for those who are new to the game. The practice facility is equipped with a large driving range and a three hole par-3 practice course, truly a wonderful learning environment for junior golfers!

Their goal is to improve each junior's game in a fun, inclusive setting with programs that blend expert instruction, camaraderie, and a supportive atmosphere for all skill levels. The coaching staff is excited to provide each camper with the opportunity to grow and excel in a positive and encouraging environment!

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment for all. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Joey began his coaching career in 2008 at
The First Tee of Tampa Bay, where he
developed a passion for helping players of
all ages and skill levels enjoy the game.
He earned his PGA membership in 2011,
marking a significant milestone in his
professional journey.
Golf has been a lifelong pursuit for Joey.
He picked up the game at a young age,
learning from his father and grandfather,
and played competitively through high
school and college. Today, he continues to
compete at a high level as a member of
the Carolinas PGA Section.
Joey’s coaching philosophy is rooted in
the belief that every golfer has a unique
