Riverwood is a highly regarded golf destination set along the rolling terrain of the Neuse River in Clayton, North Carolina.
The facility features a championship-caliber 27-hole layout designed by David Postlethwait that showcases dramatic elevation changes, thoughtful routing, and a variety of challenges that reward both distance and accuracy on the course. Originally opened in 1997, Riverwood was ranked among the “Top Ten Best New Courses in North Carolina” by North Carolina Magazine and has earned accolades including the 2011 Readers Choice Awards for its engaging design and playability. Riverwood includes many practice facilities for juniors, including an expansive driving range and short game greens for chipping & putting practice. Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.

Tyler Bass, PGA - Camp Director
Tyler is a Class A PGA Professional who graduated from Methodist University’s PGM Program in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, Tyler became the Assistant Golf Professional at Wildwood Green Golf Club and learned the art of golf instruction under the wing of Head Teaching Professional Daniel Alton. In 2020, he moved to The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation and began working with junior golfers as well as refining his skills in tournament operations and overall customer service and club experience. Tyler currently lives in Raleigh with his lovely wife, Brooklyn and their 2-year-old Boxer named Olive.
Michael Roberts, PGA Associate - Camp Co-Director
Michael Roberts is a golf instructor and the current Assistant Golf Professional at Riverwood Golf Club, where he’s been part of the team for the past three years.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Michael served for five years before discovering golf as a way to decompress and challenge himself. What began as a casual interest quickly grew into a lasting passion that now shapes his career.
At Riverwood, Michael works with players of all ages and skill levels, focusing on making the game more approachable and enjoyable. His teaching style emphasizes progress, confidence, and staying connected to the reasons people play in the first place.
