At Richmond Golf Club, juniors will enjoy a warm, friendly and diverse group of golf-centric members, staff and coaches. Perched on a hill with views of San Francisco, Richmond Golf Club offers golfers a playable, yet walkable course with a rich history. Richmond Golf Club has a storied legacy in American golf, having hosted PGA and LPGA events in the 1940s and ’50s, with champions such as Sam Snead and Babe Didrikson Zaharias competing on its fairways. Richmond Golf Club’s practice facilities include a grass driving range, a separate short game area, and 19th hole for short game practice. The expansive property gives juniors a great opportunity to learn and improve from one of the best teams in Northern California.

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment for all. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Lunch is provided for Half Day and Full Day Camps.

Jon Guntrum, PGA - Camp Director
As a member of the PGA of America since 2011, Jon has spent his career working with students of all ages and skill levels. With over 20+ years of teaching experience he has held positions as Lead Assistant at Burlingame Country Club and Head Golf Professional at Berkeley Country Club. Later, Jon was awarded the opportunity to open his own Golf Academy at Richmond Golf Club and in May of 2019, the Golf Path Academy (GPA). Focusing on teaching students the most efficient golf swing attainable, GPA utilizes the latest in Flightscope X3 technology as well as V1 Pro video software to teach how and why the suggested changes will make the golfer better. Tom Zahradka, PGA - Co-Director
Tom began his PGA golf career at Richmond Country Club in October of 1982 as a 22-year-old Assistant Golf Professional. In 1990, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional, a role he has proudly held ever since. His fascination with Richmond Country Club’s golf course continues to grow, as it presents new challenges and plays differently each day. Tom looks forward to welcoming all junior golfers to Richmond Country Club camps throughout the summer. Outside of his job, Tom has been married for over 30 years to his wife, Glenda and have one son, Kyle. Tom's other passions include sporting events, fishing and exotic travel.
