Now juniors can discover a passion for the game at the home of the VA Tech and Radford University golf teams.
The unmistakable elements of a Pete Dye design and Virginia Tech’s commitment to excellence and tradition are immediately apparent from the moment you arrive at “The River”. The course hosted the 2011 NCAA Regional Championships and the 2016 Virginia State Amateur Championships, and continues to be one of the top courses in the region. The course features an extensive practice complex with a large practice tee, chipping green with bunkers and a 10,000 sq. ft. putting green. It's the perfect place for young golfers to learn and hone golf skills!

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment for all. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Nick Boyea, PGA - Camp Director
Nick is an Operation 36 Academy Director and Certified Golf Instructor at Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech. In 2024, he was recognized as an Operation 36 “Top 50” Coach and received the Coach Impact Award as well. He is also involved with Tour Operations for the Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour, who run premier junior events all over the state of Virginia. Nick takes great pride in welcoming golfers of all skill levels through their academy, and goes the extra mile to see that each student receives great instruction and has fun while learning.
