Meck County Golf Academy at Sunset Hills Golf Course in Charlotte, NC
Located in northwest Mecklenburg County, Sunset Hills Golf Course was once a farm pasture. Now a beautifully designed golf course, Sunset Hills is the perfect spot for juniors and their families to play golf and have fun!
Originally designed for friendly competition by the owner of the land, the golf course was later redesigned by Bill Love and opened in 1952 to the public. The facility features an 18-hole regulation course, a 9-hole learner’s course, a full driving range and a practice area equipped with two chipping greens and a putting green.
Sunset Hills Golf Course is also home to Meck County Golf Academy. Their goal is to improve each junior's game in a fun, inclusive setting with programs that blend expert instruction, camaraderie, and a supportive atmosphere for all skill levels. With an outstanding staff and a wonderful facility, junior golfers will for sure leave camp with a greater passion for the game!

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment for all. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Kerry Snyder, PGA Associate - Camp Director
Kerry enjoys working with golfers of all ages to improve their
fundamentals with the goal to make the game more fun. He understands
each student has a unique swing and works with them to maximize their
ability. He believes on-course playing lessons to be an excellent learning
experience for students wanting to improve their course management and
shoot lower scores. Kerry uses swing video analysis and launch monitor
data to help improve a golf student's swing.
He conducts a variety of golf clinics for Seniors, Ladies, Men and Juniors
throughout the golf season at Sunset Hills. If you see him out and about on
