Summer fun in Norman now includes a junior camp at Jimmie Austin Golf Club - totally dedicated to golf!
The rich heritage of the grounds of the Jimmie Austin Golf Club at The University of Oklahoma dates back to the early 1940's and in 1996. With it's rolling hills, native grasses and majestic Bur Oaks, Jimmie Austin Golf Club is a peaceful beauty not expected to be on the campus of a major university and in the center of Norman. With five sets of tees, family tees and even some combo tee options, there is an appropriate length so your young golfer will enjoy learning the game of a lifetime.
The course hosted the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship and NCAA Regional Championships in 2012 (men's) and 2013 (women's) and is already scheduled to host more NCAA Regional Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps, which include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA of America Golf Professionals and/or LPGA Teaching Professions.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment. In the afternoon, campers head to the course for supervised play which allows students to apply techniques they learned on the range to the course. Lunch is included unless otherwise noted. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Johnny Johnson, PGA - Camp Director
Johnny has been a Golf Professional for 33 years and a proud member of the PGA for 28 years. A native of Stroud, Oklahoma, Johnny played collegiately at Central State University, worked as a golf professional at Cushing Country Club, Stroud Municipal Golf Course and at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Muskogee, OK.
In 2004, Johnny and his family moved to the Norman area when he became the Tournament Director at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club and is now the club's Director of Golf. He has served as Tournament Director for the South Central Section and a rules official for the NCAA Championship, Nike Tour and the Big 8 Conference.
