Eligibility for Competitive Edge Camps

Must be currently playing competitive golf (i.e. participate on the high school team, junior tournaments, or other similar competition platforms)

Instructor

Colby Wollitz, PGA - Camp Director

Colby is a member of the PGA of America and since turning professional, has won multiple Sectional PGA events, was medalist in a U.S. Open Local Qualifier, and competed in the 2012 PGA Professional National Championship. He believes that there is no perfect golf swing, only a series of acceptable positions that WILL change from player to player. Most of these positions are based on the students' body type, and many swing flaws are caused by poor set-up. He also believes that a student must learn how to transfer what they practice on the range to the golf course. He enjoys working on the mental side of the game as much as he does the golf swing itself. He ...More believes in establishing a consistent process/routine as well as a game plan based on a players dispersions and tendencies. Colby uses Trackman data from his players to create personalized course maps for them prior to tournament rounds. In 2016 and 2017 Colby was awarded the Kentucky PGA Youth Player Development Award.

Competitive Edge Day Camps at Persimmon Ridge

The 18-hole championship course design uses the natural features of the land to create one of the nation's most challenging and beautiful golf experiences. The course boasts a 23-acre practice facility including an indoor/outdoor teaching academy and target area on the range. A consistent host to many state, regional, and national golf championships, this gorgeous Arthur Hills design both challenges and excites golfers of all ages and skill levels. Campers will have access to top-class facilities to help take their game to the next level. The prestigious academy at Persimmon Ridge gives campers the ability to use Trackman to track clubhead and ball data. The effects of each individual's golf swing on the club before, during, and after impact can be calculated and shown to campers, allowing them to maximize their efforts in improving their game. Likewise, ball flight will be calculated by the state-of-the-art launch monitor, from ball speed to curvature, to everything in between. Boditrak pressure mats are available for campers as well, and can be used for many applications. From full swings to short putts, campers can benefit from viewing their balance pressure. Further improving the short game is essential for advanced golfers to reach the next level of play. At Persimmon Ridge, juniors will also have SAM PuttLab at their disposal. SAM PuttLab analyzes the 28 most important parameters of the putting stroke and displays the results in easy to understand graphic reports. It will allow campers to discover individual strengths and weaknesses for more efficient training, leading to better improvement. Cancelation Policy

If your child is unable to attend the program after registering, you can apply the registration fee to a future PGA Camps program in the current or following year by calling 1-888-PGA-PLAY (742-7529). Refunds will only be given if you have registered through PGA Camps and purchased Refund Protection. If you registered through another organization, please contact the organization directly about their refund policy. PGA Camps does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

Pending Assessment

Your registration can not be processed until your child completes a skill assessment or the provider waives the skill assessment. Please contact as soon as possible to resolve this prerequisite. We will reserve your spot for five days. If the skill assessment has not been completed or waived within five days from your order, your reserved activity or camp selection will be automatically canceled.

Pending Approval

You have selected a program that has limited availability. We must confirm availability with the provider before completing your selection. This process will be completed within 48 hours. During the 48 hour period you will have a reserved spot in your selected listings (1st choice and 2nd choice). If your 1st choice is not available, the registration process will automatically proceed with your 2nd choice.

Your registration is pending payment. Payment will be processed within 48 hours and you will receive a receipt by email.

Discount must be approved by provider. If provider does not approve discount, selection will be processed without the discount.

Brandon's Goal

Creates awareness and raises money to support the institutions, doctors and organizations that are working to seek better treatments for childhood cancer and to find a cure.

For $10.00 per program, due at the time of registration, Refund Protection entitles you to a full refund of your registration if you cancel for any reason at least 2 weeks before the program start date.
