Eligibility for Competitive Edge Camps
- Must be currently playing competitive golf (i.e. participate on the high school team, junior tournaments, or other similar competition platforms)
- Letter of recommendation from your current golf coach or instructor
- Use of the industry's most advanced teaching technologies
- Mental Golf Strategy
- Physical Conditioning and Fitness curriculum
Instructor
Matt Dito, PGA- Camp Director
Matt has been a Class 'A' Member of the PGA of America since 2005 and is originally from Petaluma, CA. He has been teaching Golf since 1998 and has created his own distinctive brand of instruction that engages the student to determine the most effective learning style. Putting an emphasis on the fundamentals, Matt is able to create a 'road map to success' with his students based on the individuals' specific needs in order to reach their potential. Matt enjoys working with students of all ages and ability levels, enjoys helping junior golfers develop their swings and a passion for the game, and helping more accomplished players exceed their goals.
Competitive Edge Day Camp at The Johnny Miller Academy at Silverado Resort & Spa
<p>There’s no better place to improve your golf game than the Johnny Miller Golf Academy (JMGA) in the heart of the beautiful Napa Valley. If the view from the lesson tee of Napa Valley is not enough to take your breath away, perhaps how much your young golfer’s swing will improve from taking a Competitive Edge Camp will! Johnny Miller, co-owner of Silverado Resort and Spa, is known for being one of the greatest ball strikers to ever play the game of golf. At the JMGA, juniors are taught Johnny’s approach to not just be golfers but to become PLAYERS. The creativity, thinking, and techniques that Johnny used to become one of the best players in the world is shared with every student of JMGA.

The academy staff includes Johnny’s son, Andy Miller, who has worked with PGA Tour professionals and developed world class athletes. He played college golf at Brigham Young University where he was a four-time All-American. He played on the 2000 U.S. team and turned professional in 2000. Miller played on the Buy.com Tour in late 2002 and won the State Farm Open, earning a tour card for the remainder of the year. He then earned his 2003 PGA Tour card at Q School.

Campers will have access to technology to help improve their games. With video for both full shots and short game, juniors will polish up every aspect of their game. The physical and mental aspect of competitive golf is also focused on, with tournament-like conditions a part of each day of camp.
