- Action-packed camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA Professionals.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).

- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
Instructor
Alec Sloan, PGA Associate - Camp Director
Alec Sloan is the Lead Assistant Golf Professional/Player Services Manager at Idlewild Country Club. He also oversees all junior golf at the facility. Alec is currently on his way to get his PGA certification. Originally from Potsdam, New York, he picked up golf at a young age and hit the ground running before making his way to Illinois. Prior experiences include working at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club, where he created and oversaw their junior program. In addition, he oversaw teaching and golf operations at Capital Canyon Club under Troon Golf. Alec has a strong passion for helping junior golfers develop and become great golfers. The property also has a dedicated short game area and driving range, so juniors can work on all aspects of the game! The team at Idlewild is committed to growing the junior golf program through games, stations and some on course play. Their focus is to help nurture a young golfer’s passion for the game, while teaching essential skills and promoting sportsmanship. The staff at Idlewild are looking forward to helping your child learn and have fun!
