Description

Action-packed camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA Professionals.
Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)

Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!

Instructor

Matt Johnson, PGA - Camp Director

Matthew Johnson is a PGA of America Golf Professional with over 15 years of experience in the golf industry. He began his career in 2009 and was later elected to PGA Membership in 2014. In recognition of his dedication to growing the game, Matthew was honored as the Southern California PGA Section Junior Golf Leader of the Year in 2015.

Matthew spent a decade developing his teaching, operations, and leadership skills at DeBell Golf Club in Burbank, California, where he played a key role in junior golf programs, member engagement, and daily golf operations. His passion for player development and building strong golf communities has been a constant throughout his career.

In 2018, Matthew joined Winchester Country Club, where he ...More served as First Assistant Golf Professional from 2018 to 2022. In 2022, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional and in 2023, to Director of Golf. In his current role, he oversees all golf operations, player development programs, tournaments, and member experiences while continuing to focus on growing the game for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Matthew is known for his commitment to exceptional member service, staff development, and creating a welcoming, high-quality golf experience.

Winchester Country Club

Winchester Country Club is one of seven golf courses in the world to be co-designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr.! The meticulously maintained fairways, challenging par-3s, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada and Sacramento Valley provide both a test of golf and an unforgettable setting. In addition to their championship 18-hole golf course, Winchester Country Club features a well-maintained practice facility, including a breathtaking driving range and scenic short game area. Young golfers will have plenty of opportunity to refine their golf skills and learn new ones. The coaching staff emphasizes skill-building, proper practice habits and fun during each camp. The team is looking forward to helping your junior golfer improve and enjoy the game!

Cancelation Policy

If your child is unable to attend the program after registering, you can apply the registration fee to a future PGA Camps program in the current or following year by calling 1-888-PGA-PLAY (742-7529). Refunds will only be given if you have registered through PGA Camps and purchased Refund Protection. If you registered through another organization, please contact the organization directly about their refund policy. PGA Camps does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

Pending Assessment

Your registration can not be processed until your child completes a skill assessment or the provider waives the skill assessment. Please contact as soon as possible to resolve this prerequisite. We will reserve your spot for five days. If the skill assessment has not been completed or waived within five days from your order, your reserved activity or camp selection will be automatically canceled.

Pending Approval

You have selected a program that has limited availability. We must confirm availability with the provider before completing your selection. This process will be completed within 48 hours. During the 48 hour period you will have a reserved spot in your selected listings (1st choice and 2nd choice). If your 1st choice is not available, the registration process will automatically proceed with your 2nd choice.

Pending Payment

Your registration is pending payment. Payment will be processed within 48 hours and you will receive a receipt by email.

Pending Membership Status

Discount must be approved by provider. If provider does not approve discount, selection will be processed without the discount.

Maximum Possible Purchase Price

Because you have selected a program with limited availability, or one that requires a skill assessment, an actual total cannot be calculated at this time. The maximum Possible Purchase Price assumes that you are registered for the listings (whether 1st or 2nd choice) with the greatest purchase price.

You will receive one or more receipts which reflect the actual total for all charges. You will receive this within 48 hours unless one of your activities or camps is still pending a skill assessment.

Scholarships

Brandon's Goal

Creates awareness and raises money to support the institutions, doctors and organizations that are working to seek better treatments for childhood cancer and to find a cure.

Refund Protection

For $10.00 per program, due at the time of registration, Refund Protection entitles you to a full refund of your registration if you cancel for any reason at least 2 weeks before the program start date.
