Description

Action-packed camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA Professionals.
Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)

Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!

Instructor

Jim Haughey, PGA - Camp Director

Jim has been following his passion for promoting the game of golf for almost 40 years which started in his home state of New York, continued to Florida, and finally settling in Monroe, North Carolina in 2001. Jim worked his way up through the PGA ranks from Assistant Pro to PGA Apprentice and finally, PGA Class A Professional. He worked in a variety of golf course positions which include Head Teaching Professional, Director of Instruction, Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf. Jim prides himself on the fact that he is always learning and continuously striving to become a better Golf Professional. Jim’s background includes a 10-year college golf coaching career at Pfeiffer University and Belmont Abbey. During his ...More College Tenure, Jim’s compiled a record of coaching 6 All American’s, 8 NCAA Regional appearances, 5 NCAA National Appearances and 3 NCAA Region Coach of the Year awards. Jim’s passion to help others play golf better comes from his own experiences with golf instruction and playing experiences. He continued to learn his trade from the best golf instructors in the industry while pursuing his dream of becoming a PGA Golf Professional. Jim learned firsthand from Legend Instructors Jim Flick, Paul Runyon and Mike Hebron as well as attended numerous national and local PGA Teaching seminars. In 1993, Jim was elected to membership of the Professional Golfers Association as a “Class A" member. Jim is a nor a retired “Life Member” of the PGA of America and current Certified USGTF Golf Instructor. Jim is also a Ping Staff Player and a certified club fitter for Callaway, Titleist and TaylorMade.Jim has coached players that have won tournaments at the Junior, College, Amateur and Professional level. His patient demeanor coupled with his attention to detail and desire to help every student improve ensures a high level of instruction. Jim prides himself on the fact that he is always learning and continuously striving to become a better instructor.

NorthStone Country Club

Founded in 1997, NorthStone has become one of the region’s most respected country clubs in the Charlotte and Lake Norman area. The Golf Studio at NorthStone is a state of the art golf instructional facility and offers programs for all skill levels. The Golf Studio features an indoor/outdoor hitting facility complete with video, training aids, and golf-specific fitness equipment. At the heart of the club is the Pete Dye designed 18‑hole championship golf course, celebrated for its strategic layout, rolling terrain, Mini‑Verde Bermuda greens, and Meyer Zoysia fairways. Juniors will be sure to enjoy the state of the art practice facilities as well as demanding golf course which will be sure to sharpen their games!

Cancelation Policy

If your child is unable to attend the program after registering, you can apply the registration fee to a future PGA Camps program in the current or following year by calling 1-888-PGA-PLAY (742-7529). Refunds will only be given if you have registered through PGA Camps and purchased Refund Protection. If you registered through another organization, please contact the organization directly about their refund policy. PGA Camps does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

Pending Assessment

Your registration can not be processed until your child completes a skill assessment or the provider waives the skill assessment. Please contact as soon as possible to resolve this prerequisite. We will reserve your spot for five days. If the skill assessment has not been completed or waived within five days from your order, your reserved activity or camp selection will be automatically canceled.

Pending Approval

You have selected a program that has limited availability. We must confirm availability with the provider before completing your selection. This process will be completed within 48 hours. During the 48 hour period you will have a reserved spot in your selected listings (1st choice and 2nd choice). If your 1st choice is not available, the registration process will automatically proceed with your 2nd choice.

Your registration is pending payment. Payment will be processed within 48 hours and you will receive a receipt by email.

Discount must be approved by provider. If provider does not approve discount, selection will be processed without the discount.

Brandon's Goal

Creates awareness and raises money to support the institutions, doctors and organizations that are working to seek better treatments for childhood cancer and to find a cure.
