Action-packed camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA Professionals.
Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)

Advanced Camps are designed for junior golfers who want to advance their game to a more competitive level. Stroke play, match play and other competitions are simulated each day with the end goal being overall game improvement. Skill Level: Advanced.

Instructor

Tony Brooks, PGA - Camp Director

Tony Brooks is the owner of the 5 Lion Golf Academy facilities located around Southern California. He is one of only 350 PGA Master Professionals in the country. His specialty for his Masters program was teaching and instruction. He is the recipient of the 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023 Golf Range Association of America Top 100 Growth of the Game Award. Tony began playing golf at the tender age of 5 in his native homeland of South Africa.. He began his teaching career at the elite Riveria Country Club in Pacific Palisades. He enjoys not only teaching his students the fundamentals of the game, but showing them that golf is not about just hitting a ball, but rather about what ...More you can achieve in life through golf. He is proud to share his knowledge gained through the more than 30,000 lessons he's given since turning professional in 1996. Highlights include:

Lion Golf Academy at Balboa Park Golf Course

Established in the early 20th century, this classic municipal course offers a memorable municipal golf experience with 18 holes of championship play and a 9‑hole executive course — all framed by scenic views of downtown San Diego, Point Loma, and the Pacific Ocean. The oldest public golf facility in San Diego, Balboa Park Golf Course also offers a driving range, short game area and a practice putting green, so juniors have the opportunity to work on all elements of the game! Balboa’s rich history includes moments from golf legends — notably Sam Snead once held the course record here — and the course continues to be a central part of San Diego’s golf community, hosting local tournaments and amateur events. <br><br> Balboa Park Golf Course is also home to the Lion Golf Academy (LGA), one of the only full-time player development academies focusing on families, with an emphasis on juniors. The team works on developing core principles within golf, as well as one’s short game, putting and full swing. LGA also focuses on developing a child’s athletic skills, and the team encourages children to play other sports in addition to golf.

Cancelation Policy

If your child is unable to attend the program after registering, you can apply the registration fee to a future PGA Camps program in the current or following year by calling 1-888-PGA-PLAY (742-7529). Refunds will only be given if you have registered through PGA Camps and purchased Refund Protection. If you registered through another organization, please contact the organization directly about their refund policy. PGA Camps does not pro-rate programs for missed camp days.

Pending Assessment

Your registration can not be processed until your child completes a skill assessment or the provider waives the skill assessment. Please contact as soon as possible to resolve this prerequisite. We will reserve your spot for five days. If the skill assessment has not been completed or waived within five days from your order, your reserved activity or camp selection will be automatically canceled.

Pending Approval

You have selected a program that has limited availability. We must confirm availability with the provider before completing your selection. This process will be completed within 48 hours. During the 48 hour period you will have a reserved spot in your selected listings (1st choice and 2nd choice). If your 1st choice is not available, the registration process will automatically proceed with your 2nd choice.

Your registration is pending payment. Payment will be processed within 48 hours and you will receive a receipt by email.

Pending Membership Status

Discount must be approved by provider. If provider does not approve discount, selection will be processed without the discount.

Maximum Possible Purchase Price

The maximum Possible Purchase Price assumes that you are registered for the listings (whether 1st or 2nd choice) with the greatest purchase price.

Brandon's Goal

Creates awareness and raises money to support the institutions, doctors and organizations that are working to seek better treatments for childhood cancer and to find a cure.
