Yorktown Golf Course, purchased by the Village of Shiloh, is an 18-hole, fully lit, par 3 Course designed by Bob Goalby and Pete Dye. The golf course opened for play in the early 1960s and is truly a unique design, aimed at improving your golf ball striking and short game skills. Yorktown Golf Course is the perfect place for fundraisers, office outings, family time, practice time, but is best for juniors who are relatively new to the game and wanting to learn in a friendly and fun environment. The facility offers a driving range, a large putting and chipping green, all perfect for practice at any stage of one’s golfing career. If your junior is looking for truly a one-of-a-kind, positive golf experience, the team at Yorktown will certainly deliver!

Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed camps include hands-on instruction led by certified PGA Professionals.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child's well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers at the beginning of their journey and further the development of those playing at a beginner to intermediate level. Camps will cover golf fundamentals including posture, grip, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and simple rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age to create a favorable and fun learning environment. Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue to improve their technical skills as well as develop an understanding of course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age to create a favorable learning environment. In the afternoon, campers head to the course for supervised play which allows students to apply techniques they learned on the range to the course. Lunch is included unless otherwise noted. Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Dan Polites, PGA - Camp Director
Dan, a PGA member since 1992, is the Chair of the Gateway PGA T&C Committee, a Gateway PGA Board Member 2019-20, and hold certifications in PGA Teaching & Coaching. Dan has been presented distinguished PGA Awards to include the Bill Strausbaugh Award 2019 and the Horton Smith Award ’97, ’98 and 2018. Dans’ honors include Illinois Coaches Association Golf Hall of Fame Class of 2018, Golf Digest Top Teachers in Illinois and YMCA Illinois Volunteer of Year. Additionally, Dan is the author of “Golf For Rookies” which covers all aspects of the game for beginners and provides a reference guide for the more experience players.
