Shortly after re-opening in 2009, TPC Potomac at Avenal Farm was ranked #14 by Golf Digest – Best Courses in Maryland.
Great care was taken to incorporate the distinct nuances and indigenous flora of the Mid-Atlantic topography into the course design, to create a compelling, strategically diverse and strikingly beautiful playing field for golfers of all ages and skill levels. The course features Bentgrass greens, tees and fairways with subtle elevation changes and distinctive Mid-Atlantic and Scottish-style bunkering. Challenging enough for the best players in the world, the golf course offers five sets of tees on each hole affording golfers of all ages and abilities the chance to “Play it Forward”. TPC Potomac’s expansive PGA TOUR-quality practice facility, featuring a comprehensive short game area complete with bunkering; grass tee practice range that extends 350 yards; and a new practice putting green provides the perfect place for junior golfers to learn and improve.
