Since early 2014, Keney Park Golf Course has been the focus of a massive restoration, with design efforts led by Dusenberry Design; Matthew Dusenberry, was a longtime associate at Greg Norman Golf Course Design. The full-scale restoration of Keney Park Golf Course includes completely renovated tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers. The newly designed practice facility is perfect for juniors to hone new golf skills. The brand new Golf Range has golfers hitting practice shots into the area of Keney Park once nicknamed as the Sheep’s Meadow and has approximately 10,000 square feet of natural turf hitting area, along with over 1,200 square feet of artificial turf. Another new addition to the facility is the large short game practice area and 2,000 square foot practice green, allowing juniors to practice various short game shots up to about 30 yards in length. Different positions around the green have grass mowed at fairway and rough heights, and there is even a practice bunker so golfers can improve their sand shots!
PGA Junior Golf Camps are also being held at our sister facility Goodwin Park Golf Course.
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for junior golfers to continue to improve their skills as well as develop better course management expertise. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. Following lunch, campers head to the course for supervised play emphasizing course management, shot selection and rules.
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise–is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.
As a golf instructor Peter believes the golf swing is a total body swing, a swing that incorporates every part of the body, not just the arms and hands. He knows the way to having a repeatable, reliable swing revolves around making a good weight transfer and a good rotation using the large muscles of the body to generate club head speed. As a golf instructor Peter incorporates these principals into how he teaches. By using the larger muscles of the body and a good rotation and weight transfer, a correct golf swing should not feel labored it should be smooth and efficient.
