The Instructors
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That's why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise - is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.

Mike Byce, PGA - Camp Director
Mike has been a PGA Member since 1999. His playing career includes being a four year letterman at Clemson University. In 2007, Mike was recognized as a PGA Junior Golf Leader. His teaching philosophy is outcome based and that there is not one way to strike the ball. He believes in having a conversation with students about their goals and stresses the fun aspect of the game while realizing that students have more fun when they see improvement in their game.

Chip Ridley, PGA-Camp Co-Director
A Graduate of the Clemson University PGA Golf Management Program, Chip was elected to the PGA of America in 2011. He is director of the Spartanburg Chapter of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. Chip’s philosophy involves as much coaching as teaching. Coaching refers to students understanding what they do well, how they do it and how to best trust their abilities. However, he believes that no one can play the game without proper fundamentals. He believes in trying to get his students to play the game scientifically, from the green all the way back to the tee while instilling confidence in their innate abilities.
