This isn't just any Golf Camp, it's the PGA Junior Golf Camp. Learn why the PGA instruction is best in class.
Designed by architect Roger Packard and former host of the LPGA Hall of Fame Golf Classic, Sweetwater Country Club’s two courses continue to offer a diverse challenge for young golfers of all levels. On the Pecan Course, players experience lengthy holes of relatively open play, susceptible to ever present Texas winds winding through majestic pecan groves with the tranquility of aged Spanish moss. With it’s extensive practice facility, Sweetwater is the perfect place for your young golfer to learn and practice new skills.
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for junior golfers to continue to improve their skills as well as develop better course management expertise. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. Following lunch, campers head to the course for supervised play emphasizing course management, shot selection and rules.
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise–is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.
Al is a native of Reading, Pennsylvania and began his collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame and later received his B.S. in Biology from American University. Attempting to pursue a career in medicine, Al realized his passions lay elsewhere, he made the transition into the golf business in 2003 going to work for Michael Breed, the current host of The Golf Channel’s “The Golf Fix”. He proceeded to work at several top clubs in the Metropolitan Section including a teaching position at Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY, the longtime host of the Buick Classic. Al has had the good fortune to extensively train under 4 of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America and his pursuit of improved understanding and education led him to become one of Jim Hardy’s Plane Truth Certified Instructors in 2012.
Al is excited to learn and share information with the current staff and students; most importantly to help them master the ability to produce a correct, repetitive impact and improve those handicaps!
