This isn't just any Golf Camp, it's the PGA Junior Golf Camp. Learn why the PGA instruction is best in class.
The rich heritage of the grounds of the Jimmie Austin Golf Club at The University of Oklahoma dates back to the early 1940’s, when the land was home to a U.S. Navy recreational facility. In January 1951 the course opened for play. In 1996, thanks to the generous contributions from OU supporters, especially that of namesake Jimmie Austin, an extensive renovation of the course was completed. Bishop Creek, a major artery running through the middle of the golf course, and the South Canadian River have helped form the terrain for hundreds of years. With it’s rolling hills, native grasses and majestic Bur Oaks, Jimmie Austin Golf Club is a peaceful beauty not expected from being on the campus of a major university and in the center of Norman. With five sets of tees, family tees and even some combo tee options, there is an appropriate length so your young golfer will enjoy learning the game of a lifetime.
The course hosted the 2013 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship and NCAA Regional Championships in 2012 (men’s) and 2013 (women’s) and is already scheduled to host more NCAA Regional Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for junior golfers to continue to improve their skills as well as develop better course management expertise. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. Following lunch, campers head to the course for supervised play emphasizing course management, shot selection and rules.
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise–is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.
