Little Linksters at Orange Lake Resort is a national award winning organization that offers a wide variety of teaching programs for children, from new golfers to tournament players. Little Linksters offers opportunities to test skills and become part of the team and is taught in a fun and interactive way. The bottom line is the Little Linksters Program is FUN!
Orange Lake Resort boasts a championship course designed by Arnold Palmer, with two distinct play experiences. Scottish-style golf is featured on the front nine; while the towering pines, majestic oaks, winding fairways and flowing water on the back nine are reminiscent of the Carolinas. This course has multiple sets of tee boxes to ensure that all skill levels can enjoy a challenging round. The Reserve’s scenic course is also a great for family play.
Little Linksters also hosts PGA Junior Golf Camps at Wekiva Golf Club.
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for junior golfers to continue to improve their skills as well as develop better course management expertise. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. Following lunch, campers head to the course for supervised play emphasizing course management, shot selection and rules.
Advanced Full Day Camps offer serious game improvement for the serious junior golfer. These camps concentrate on instruction which will take a camper’s game to the next level, with the emphasis on mental conditioning, course management, and the short game. By utilizing tournament-like conditions, campers are taught and tested on those skills identified as being mandatory to successfully compete at even the highest competitive junior golf levels. Stroke play, match play and other like competitions are simulated each day with the end goal being true game improvement.
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise–is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.
Brendon Elliott, PGA, Founder and Executive Director of the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, and Owner and Senior Director of Instruction at Little Linksters, LLC, is the recipient of the 2017 PGA Youth Player Development Award. This honor recognizes a PGA Professional who has displayed extraordinary and exemplary contributions and achievement in the area of youth player development.
Elliott, a PGA Member for eight years, recognized a need when he noticed that every sport aims to catch and inspire kids while young—except golf. Despite many naysayers, Elliott started Little Linksters to introduce children to golf at the same age they are often exposed to other sports. His organization also hosts a G.O.A.L.S. program for children with special needs. His numerous awards include: 2017 PGA Youth Player Development Award, four-time recipient of the North Florida PGA Junior Leader Award, five-time GRAA Top 50 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional Award winner and three time US Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher.
Michael McMillan is the Director of Instruction at the new Little Linksters Academy at Orange Lake Resort. As a junior, he played in numerous AJGA, FCWT, IJGT and other local tour events, was named the Florida Times Union High School Player of the Year and earned a full Division 1 scholarship to Florida Atlantic University. He was named to the all-Freshman Conference Team (Sun Belt) in his first year of play.
Michael trained under several prominent golf instructors including Travis Fulton, who is the current lead instructor for the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive, Tom Burnett, and Mike Lamana. Michael has played in over 10 professional events since 2008 carding two wins and a second-place finish. Michael graduated from The Golf Academy of America in 2014, specializing in advanced teaching methods, club fitting & repair and rules of golf.
Danny is the G.O.A.L.S. Program Director for Little Linksters. Danny is originally from North Dakota, and attended Minnesota State University-Moorhead, majoring in Business Administration and Marketing. Danny is also a December 2016 graduate of the Golf Academy of America-Orlando.
Danny was born with Spina Bifida and has relied on a wheelchair for mobility since birth.
