As Idle Hour Country Club celebrates its centennial year, three generations have already passed through its gates. Having played host to the Georgia State Amateur Championship a record setting eight times, the Idle Hour Club sits at the pinnacle of golf in the Southeast and is considered among the likes of the most respected golf facilities in the game. The 18-hole championship A.W. Tillinghast designed golf course offers a dramatic and challenging experience for golfers of all ages and abilities. Your junior golfer will also enjoy honing new golf skills at the dedicated Golf Learning Center. Join us this summer at one of the South’s oldest and finest clubs.
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Full Day Camps (ages 9-16) provide an excellent opportunity for junior golfers to learn or improve their technical skills as well as develop strong course management skills. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience level in order to create the most favorable learning environment possible. Lunch is provided for full day campers.
Half Day Camps (ages 9-16) are designed to create in the “new junior golfer” up through those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience level in order to create the most favorable learning environment possible. For three hours each day, campers learn or hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals and well as fun!

Brandon Stooksbury is a class “A” certified instructor for the PGA of America. He has 13 years of experience as an instructor and coach. He previously served as a teaching professional with the Jim McLean Golf School in Miami, FL and as Director of Instruction for the PGA TOUR Academy at TPC Las Vegas.
Since 2010, Brandon has been ranked as a top 10 instructor in both Nevada and Georgia in Golf Digest Magazine’s “Best in State” instructor rankings and is a 5-time PGA Section and Chapter award winner. Brandon recently authored and released his first published work, “The Wedge Book,” and is a regular contributor in Golf Illustrated Magazine and Golf Tips Magazine, as well as a featured guest on the “Vegas Video Network,” FOX Sports Radio 920 and 13WMAZ News in Macon, Georgia. Brandon carries certifications in Biomechanics and Golf Fitness from the Titleist Performance Institute, AimPoint Golf, and U.S. Kids Golf and has extensive experience in competitive player development and specializes in teaching and fitting all aspects of putting and short game to golfers of all ability levels.
