With 36 holes of championship golf, Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, offers one of the most spectacular golf experiences in the Southwest – just as you would expect at one of the country’s most decorated resorts.
PGA Junior Golf Camps is pleased to welcome Camelback Golf Resort for the 2017 summer season. This artfully designed course and grounds and meticulous landscaping offer lush beginnings to your junior golfer’s experience. Camelback Golf Club also has terrific practice facilities that include a large grass range, short-game area and putting green.

What you’ll learn
We have camps for all age groups and abilities, and our best-in-class PGA instruction ensures your child learns from the best.
Camp Highlights:
- Action-packed mornings include 3 hours of hands-on instruction lead by certified PGA Professionals.
- Signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging (games and activities).
- A fun, safe and educational environment designed with your child’s well being in mind.
- Low student to instructor ratio (approximately 6:1)
Half Day Camps are designed to inspire new golfers and further the development of those playing at an intermediate level. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their experience and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. For three hours each day, campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on golf’s fundamentals while having fun!
- Ages 6-13
- Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 11:00 am
- Golf Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Full Day Camps provide an opportunity for junior golfers to continue to improve their skills as well as develop better course management expertise. Participants are segmented into smaller groups based on their ability level and age in order to create a favorable learning environment. Following lunch, campers head to the course for supervised play emphasizing course management, shot selection and rules.

- Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Daily lunch included

The Instructors
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise–is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.

John Stahlschmidt, PGA - Camp Director
John Stahlschmidt has a rich and illustrious golf background both as a player and golf instructor. A native of St. Louis, MO, John played collegiately at the University of Alabama, where he was a four-year letterman and captain of the 1998 squad. After a short professional playing career on the mini-tours, John turned his attention to teaching.
From 2000 to present, John has taught at some of the best facilities in the country including TPC Scottsdale and TPC Sawgrass. John has also trained under Hank Haney and the late Jim Flick. John has given over 15,000 lessons and is dedicated to one simple mission- “Help You Improve!”
