This isn't just any Golf Camp, it's the PGA Junior Golf Camp. Learn why the PGA instruction is best in class.
Bandon Dunes is true to the spirit of Scotland’s ancient links. True links courses are rare, with only about 160 on the entire planet. The game of golf was born on rugged, wind-swept land like this. Where every hole, every hazard, and every shot is defined by nature’s infinite presence. At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, players immerse themselves in the traditions of a timeless game and the grandeur of Oregon’s rugged coast. Sweeping, untamed shores stretch for miles. Primeval grassy dunes roll to the sea.
Here, you’ll find five distinctly different courses built on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes perched 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes feature a dozen holes that run along the bluff overlooking 2.3 miles of sweeping, undisturbed shoreline. Bandon Trails begins on a massive dune, works its way through open meadows and upland forest, and then finishes in the dunes. Old Macdonald moves through dune to ocean revealing breathtaking views throughout. The courses here weren’t built as much as discovered. Among the coastal forest, dunes and gorse, lie golf holes that yield fresh rewards each time they’re played.
A 30-acre practice center allows you to hone every shot required at Bandon Dunes and features a one-acre practice putting green and bunker practice area. When you are finished with golf, great recreation abounds in the area surrounding Bandon Dunes. Guests enjoy more than 10 miles of dune land trails right on the resort property.
The Lodge at Bandon Dunes is the epicenter of activity at the resort and includes 17 single rooms, each with one queen bed. Some rooms have golf course and ocean views, while others have views of the dunes and surrounding woods.
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Jeff Simonds’ life is golf. It always has been. It’s all he’s known, not by default, but rather by choice. Jeff started golfing around the age of four. He has been Head Golf Pro at Bandon Dunes since 2005 and promoted to Director of Golf in 2009. He has been a certified PGA professional since 2007 and a Master Golf Professional since 2016. His dedication to the game has garnered him accolades. In 2016, he received the Bill Strausbaugh Award which bestows special recognition on a PGA Professional who personally displays outstanding integrity, character and leadership through a commitment to mentoring.
Jeff has learned from top PGA professionals like Steven Borror, Tim Reinke, Jerry Breaux, Albert King, Todd Bindner, and Grant Rogers, to name a few. He describes his commitment to the game: “Golf IS my life! Golf is a great game. My favorite game. It is something that you can play from 4 to 104 years old. You can play with your family, a friend or someone you just met on the first tee. I’ve competed in tournaments, met great people from all walks of life. I can’t imagine doing anything else, not because it’s the only job I’ve had, but because it’s what I love to do.” Jeff Simonds’ life of golf, and his genuine desire to make the game of life enjoyable to all, makes him a true ambassador of the game.
